Sound sampling.

I was thinking about making a sound sampler for my band, but I'm not sure exactly how to start it out. I would like it to be able to hold 5 to 10 somewhat high quality samples that will each last anywhere up to 10 seconds long. It would also be nice to have the ability to record lesser-quality samples on the fly.

If I'm missing needed info, please let me know so I can try my best to explain things better.
