quick switch problem

what i need is a switch circuit so when a switch is pressed an LED lights up and stays lit until and only resets when power is switched on then on again. whats the simplest way to do this?

I would probably use an SCR...

thanx for the fast reply, altho i just remembered i have some thyristors what have worked (should of used them in the first place)
