Hi I'm wishing for a circuit that will charge and discharge a 5kV 1uF capacitor (two 2.5kV 1uf caps in series).

Could I just wire together 16 300v disposable camera circuits to charge it?

Where would one get a suitable relay to trigger it? assuming ut would need to be big and tungsten.

Thankyou.

OK dont worry about the relay they seem common enough, though surely expensive.

But still curious about increasing the charging voltage of camera circuits by rigging together in series. Will that work?

In theory you might be able to wire them all in series, but each would need its own isolated battery.

Thanks cruts,

Well I'll give it a go anyways, just bought 12 cameras and a relay off ebay.

Can anyone think of a way around the need for individual batteries?
