Amplifying Output to Vcc Signal

I have an output from an IC, the output is considered from Output PIN to Vcc Pin of the IC. I need to Amplify this signal. Can i use a normal bias technique?
I havent tried something like this before.

Edit: Any example(Diagram) for this type amplifying?

Hi all,

In any Transistor amplifier circuit in common emitter mode;
Lower terminal is connected to ground and the other one is connected to base.
So in this case Vcc to Base; and Output terminal of IC as ground.
Wouldnt the signal that i need amplify be shorted to ground, if i do like that?

Common Emitter amp, emitter to 0V, Collector to Vsupply via a resistor, Base to the driving source via a resistor

I want to amplify the signal, which is tapped between the
Output Terminal and Vcc Terminal

Don't connect with a short, but use a resistor. If this is just a digital signal, choose a resistor that will give your base current to 1/10 of collector current. If it's analog, then tell us the input/output/amplification parameters, and the output impedance of the IC, if you know it.
