does anyone know about 2N3565, 2N4401, 2N3904, 2N3906? I cannot find it. But I can find the transistors with BC... types. Can anyone help?
thanks

2Nxxxx are American transistors. BCxxx are European transistors with the pins layout different.
Both are available at any half-decent electronic parts distributors.

You might try "ECA" for transistor comparison books.

E.g. looking up 2N222 you'll find the equivalent "BC" type, here BC547.

2Nxxx and BCxxx are slightly different in collector current and, as already mentioned by audioguru, they are sometimes different in pin layout.

BC-transistors are all E-B-C, 2N types might be B-E-C.

2N3904 (NPN) can be substituted by BC547, 2N3906 (PNP) by BC557.

I you don't need comparison tables very often you might get the info online at ECA - Semiconductor Information Resource Since 1970

Online information is charged with a small fee.

BTW, buying 2N transistors in Germany they are not called "American transistors" but "Japanese transistors". :)

More apt to call 2SA, 2SB, 2SC series Transistors, Japanese.

BC series follow CBE, while 2N -many of them EBC

Unless you enter your location in your UserCP then helping you find a source for parts is hit or miss depending on somebody's lucky guess where you might live.

Datasheets of transistors commonly refer to the bottom view.

Any objections to that?

as Bottom view it is correct. But most transistors are shown 3D view now a days. The front of the transistor a BC548 would be CBE. Fairchild datasheet attached
