Hi...how scr inverter operates?

Just like its transistor counterparts, but you have to figure out a way to turn them off, as removing the gate drive won't do it (The SCR latches on).

You have to used forced commutation, with the aid of another SCR and a tank circuit, like the McMurray-Bedford inverter.

Never Tried this on a Transformer, But this Might Work.
Transformer enter tap to the 12 Volts, one winding to SCR-1 and the other to SCR-2
This Assumes it can operate at 50 or 60Hz.
Also it would require some Transient Protection.
