alec - interesting variation of the standard 2-gate monostable. More gates, but it does eliminate a potential voltage spike at the start of the recovery phase.

yes you're right , i misinterpreted it, the 5 sec delay is just in case the driver turns ignition on/off within 5 seconds to read the mileage......the mirrors shouldnt then operate.

I'm curious.
What if I don't want my mirrors to unfold when the ignition is on? or I want them to fold?
As an example, if I want to drive into a garage with a narrow entrance?
Will the design have manual control buttons/switches?

Also...what is the source of the 5v command signal? Is it a mechanical contact?
