RC hobby clampmeter only reading Ohms

Hi - I bought this for my RC hobby years back - been sitting in a drawer, badged Graupner from Germay so not cheap cheap. But I guess cheap in origin. As far as I recall I did not overload it - it just does not respond to DC voltage - my main requirement - in auto mode or via the range selection - or the clamp to current. In all cases the display just shows noise - very low millivolts etc. However the Ohm meter works (using the cables) ? I know not expensive to replace and throw in the bin but ..

I would open case and clean the rotary switch contacts for starters.
