I need to replace a 2.5A fuse with axial leads, in a wall wart PCB. I'm not familiar with pico fuses, but from googling them, they seem a reasonable alternative to the original glass fuse. Any reason not to use one here?

No problem as long as the pico fuse is rated to handle the voltage it's protecting. If it's wired to the primary of the wall wart then it needs to be rated for 120vac. Specs should be avalible on line.
