metal detector

Hi guys,

This is a circuit that i am working on right now.
It's a very simple circuit and I've assembled it on a breadboard.
Unfortunately it doesn't work...
Could someone please help me.

You've got two threads of the same question, you gotta clarify on that later. Anyway welcome here.

not much can be said, but the proximity sensor is not very good for metal detection anyway, the range is too short.
