Ad9777 spi

Hello: I am stuck setting up an AD9777 dual dac. The DAC has an SPI interface. I intend to interface it to an BF561-ezkit lite, but I am having trouble using the software that AD supplied with the AD9777 evaluation board (labview 5.1.1). I can change the contents of all the registers except for register 0. I don't think it changes all the bits to 0 upon reset. Can I write directly to address 0 of the DAC using the SPI interface on the Blackfin extender card. Analog has passed on this question a couple of times
