Does anyone have a schematic for a simple voltage reducer from 240v to 5vcc @ 0.5/1.0A , to fit onto a small PCB ! .

I never build 5 volt supplies. I can buy good quality one far cheaper than I can build one.

I've used these before (below link) (about 2 cubic inches and $10 for board-mount supply) if building something to control an AC powered device but, if the whole project is 5v, it is is easier and safer to use the USB supply.
