Visual Studio Forums

Does anyone know a good Visual Studio forum? I need to interface my MCU to my laptop via the IR port (can I call it a port?), but I've been having trouble finding good info (or at least good info for a Visual Studio novice). Right now I'm trying to work my way through the Microchip App note on the subject.
