I have a homebrew project that will display weather info on the TV.
To do this requires the use on an OSD chip.(On Screen Display).

The one I have found info on is STV5730a. It is no longer produced and
can't find a cross reference for it.

TV tech is not my strong suit so I may be overlooking a simpler solution.

There are various OSD chips about, the problem is finding data on how to use them, and the fact that their production runs are usually very short.

However, the STV5730a is still available for the hobbiest, try looking at http://www.stv5730a.co.uk.
