Hey folks, I'm building a Class D amp with TOSlink optical input.
Am I on the right track here with an SPDIF decoder to i2s such as: DIR9001: https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/dir9001.pdf
and a Class D amp such as: TAS6422: https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tas6422-q1.pdf
This is how I plan to interface the chips:
DIR9001 to TAS6422
BCKO - SCLK
SCKO - MCLK
DOUT - SDIN
LRCKO - FSYNC
TAS6422
SCLK - audio bit and serial clock input
MCLK - Audio master clock input
SDIN - I2S audio data input
FSYNC - Audio frame clock input
SPDIF
BCKO - Audio data bit clock output
SCKO - System clock output
DOUT - 16-24 bit decoded serial digital audio data output
LRCKO - Audio data latch enable output
I feel more confident after typing it out.
1) Is the TAS 6422 a class d amp with an audio data processor in it?
2) Is an ADP a type of DSP?
Thank you for your time.
