I've been looking for a 50K pot that only rotates 45 degrees and can't find one anywhere! It's being used as a voltage divider so simply using a larger pot value and turning it less will not work. Anyone know a supplier? Can I modify a pot somehow?

My ideas are: (1) gear drive (2) open and modify an available pot

You might see if you can find a pot with a tap at the desired location.

Will the pot be mounted on a panel or open on top of a board? Can't you use a fixed resistor for the minimum and combine it different value pot to adjust only the usable range? Maybe a digital pot would work for you.

I was thinkin of using a precision pot set up to reduce the actual response range and use the entire sweep. Worth a thought anyway
