quick simple schematic check, please...

I haven't read every single post in the entire thread to I might have missed something but I've noticed the following:

An LM317 has too higher voltage drop.
There are too many LEDs in series for a 9V battery.
The pot. will burn out - I've done that before, it's one of the first mistakes I made. :D

Here's an LED current regulator circuit which is adjustable and has a drop-out of under 0.8V, of course it needs modifying to suit your requirements.
