eTech, Pommie, ChrisP58, Les Jones, Nigel Goodwin, rjenkinsb, and the ETO forum,
The schematic for the Staircase project has changed considerably so starting a new thread.
Will begin new breadboard and test.
Last time did one channel. Will do two channels on bread board this time because going from one to more-than-one channel caused
a lot of issues..
Just to sort of review the big picture, the idea is to light a staircase based on the movement of the ambler as sensed by motion detection.
The first design lit all the lights on the staircase at once using two PIRs at the top and bottom of the staircase for a couple of minutes using a 555 timer. At the Perot Museum in Dallas a staircase was seen that lit the stairs above the ambler as she walked up, and conversely, lit the stairs below her as she descended. This introduced the idea of each LED group at a tread coming on independently and the concept of directionality. To include these two elements the Arduino was added so logic could be used to react to the position and direction of the ambler.
Let me know if you see any issues.
Thanks.
