Petrol gauge invauxhall corsa 98

My petrol gauge has stopped working in vauxhall corsa and has a continuous red light on saying im constantly running on fumes. i Fill the tank up bit this problem remains.

Just wondering does anyone know if this is a problem with the electronics or sumthing else

help needed urgent

Check for healthy wiring and connectors from the reservoir to the instrument.

Grounding or disconnecting the sensor wire should give full scale deflection. If so, the fuel sender unit inside the reservoir is kaput/stuck.

Also, in U.S. vehicles the instrument panel gauges have a bimetallic voltage regulator that puts a pulsed waveform with average value ~5.0 v, so if other gauges are acting strangely you might check that.
 
The best solution would be to replace everything between the front and rear number plates.:D
 
Gathering you're in the UK as thats the only place that really have Vauxhall Corsas.

Is is a Corsa B or C ?
