Can any one tell me what the output swing of an amplifier is? And what do we mean when we say the output swing is greater than 1 volt?
 
The output swing of an amplifier is its maximum AC peak-to-peak voltage. A sinewave with a power into an 8 ohm speaker of 50W is produced by an output voltage of 20V RMS which is a peak-to-peak output voltage swing of 56.6V.
An output voltage swing of 1V peak-to-peak is 35.4mV RMS.
 
In the circuit below if Vout=2v assuming Vdd is 2.5v, in this case can anyone tell me what is the output swing? (Vbias is 2v if needed)



 
Your circuit with an N-channel Mosfet and a drain resistor and having a 2.5V supply should have its Vout at half the supply voltage (1.25VDC) for maximum output swing of 2.5V peak-to-peak if there is no load.
Since you want the Vout to be 2V then the maximum symmetrical output swing will be only 1Vp-p. Vbias depends on the Mosfet spec's.

Vdd is 2.5 v. why do you say "peak to peak" for that?
 
Sources may be single ended, bipolar, analog or digital. Each can "swing" or drive a certain load with a possible drop or rise according to the load voltage connection.

If you can figure out the swing on this circuit. when the switch opens and closes . This may be similar to the FET switch. Consider Vbat=10V for example.

There is no output swing since you say that Vout= 2V.

Please provide more details. Is the average Vout= 2V during an output swing? Or is the quiescent Vout= 2V? Do you want Vout to be the maximum symmetrical output?
