Once there was a LED from AC mains paper...

Once there was a LED driven capacitively from AC mains paper, or applications guide, I believe published by probably National Semiconductors; with all the considerations and good theory explained. Cannot find it now that National joined Texas Inst.

Would like to locate it to provide the link for many posters that ask the subject, it is simple and well written.
 
If you search the forum (back a year or more) the subject of transformer-less LEDs supplies comes up many times.

look for: Transformerless Power Supply, capacitor, LED, AC mains, 220 AC to 3.6VDC,
