Hi everyone, got ANOTHER rf question (i know this is getting annoying ). Neway, I'm building another transmitter. This isn't exactly precise, but this example will do. When I put a 2 pf cap into the parallel LC circuit, I can hear my voice crystal clear on one part of the dial. when I put in a 1 pf cap, i get a bunch of crackly stuff wherever I turn the dial. I'm trying to find my base frequency without an oscilliscope. Also, how much stronger is the base frequency than the first harmonic? Like twice as much? thanx

Much more than that, if it's a decent sinewave (as it should be) the harmonic content should be very low.

harmonics are just integral multiples of the fundamental frequency. it could be anything, 2 or 10. it depends on the type of the circuit. u should try to make a perfect sine wave and try to keep harmonics down, although that is not 100% possible
