I have a Ipod Nano g3 and it won't charge from those USB chargers that you use in the car and others, I have one that works, so I looked inside it and it has 4 resistors, I copied the set up and now I can charge from any 5 Volt USB outlet.
The red lead has a 3.9K to green and 2.4k to white, the black lead has a 2.7k going to each , green and white.
I post this so it will show up if someone googles Ipod nano 3 g.
Hope it's helpful to others.
