Internet problems - many sites broken??

Hi all,
I've not been able to access Electro-tech-online directly for over a week, but not had chance to properly investigate until now.

The site works fine if accessed via a proxy such as in Epic browser; the problem is somewhere in the UK internet routing system as far as I can tell, but I don't have a clue how to report it??

(I should point out this is not a DNS problem; the addresses returned by DNS match those checked via remote systems in the UK or other countries).

The affected sites are very varied and scattered, eg. the UK Ofcom site is also unavailable & running tracert shows different paths before the requests apparently go in to limbo.

Russian Hackers maybe?
Since Boris visited the Ukraine, Putin may be more pi$$ed off....

More likely one ISP with a routing problem of some sort, I think.

I can get around it with a VPN that uses another location within the UK, so it appears to be local.

As stated before, this may be a problem from the ISP (Internet Service Provider) , DNS or client side (Your internet) check your router and if the problem persists, contact your internet provider.

I temporarily used a VPN to bypass the local problem; it was fixed about a week later.

There was no point contacting my ISP as it would have taken longer to get it escalated to the level someone understood the problem, than just to wait for it to get sorted out..

(My company provides internet and networking services, among other things - but only for business customers; we don't do domestic so I can't provide my own! - Though my home network is more complex than many smaller businesses, just from me being a tech fanatic & running everything from a dedicated NTP server through a Quake server to dedicated development systems and big NAS array, plus multiple subnets & long range links to business partners and family..)
