I wouldn't doubt that those chips are that old. These tools where outdated when we got them 10 years ago. And yes, they are only programable once. We have several suppliers that specialize in very old IC's that are no longer manufactured and I think I can get several of the original intel 8751's. I talked with the manufacture tech support (LAM Research) and they didn't have any problems with copying the chips. They offered to send us a copy of the original source code, but they couldn't find it. Really, all I need to know is if it's possible to copy one of the chips. I've found a few generic "universal" chip programmers that are fairly inexpensive ($400-$800) but before I go to my boss with a purchase order, I want to be certain that this chip can be copied. Also, if anybody has a link/copy of the datasheet for this chip, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
