Images disappear

I really like reading all questions raised by PG1995 and answers that he got. However, there are some threads in which the images with questions attached disappeared. Here are some examples:

I am wondering what is the reason causing this. Is there a way to fix it?

About this time last year, there was a major drive failure and some attachments were irretrievably lost. EM explains it here: https://www.electro-tech-online.com/threads/server-down-hard-drive-failure.131876/

Many contributors were contacted and asked to re-post what images they still had.
