Home Smoke detectors are all Beeping Batteries are not dead.???

Smoke detectors generally expire after 8–10 years. Check the manufacture date printed on the back of each unit. If they’re 10+ years old, consider replacing them.

The yellow wire connects them all together so one beeps they all beep . Its very common to be powered from mains
and have backup power most places its code.

And the 0ne beep is low battery one somewhere is low maybe where inside heat unit or basement room lot of times you miss one like that

Manufacture date on all 5 smoke detectors is 10/02/2005. Last time detectors went off California & Canada were on fire we had a lot of smoke in our air.

Today 7/28/2025 all 5 detectors are beeping. It is 97° outside humidity 100% and rain every day. 5 detectors are wired together if 1 goes off all 5 go off. I determined 1 detector is causing all the trouble after removing it from the circuit the other 4 detectors work fine. Wife is trying to order new detectors that fit the existing twist lock case.
