hi,
for my thesis i require to know detail about tecnological development of transformer.. can any one help me about this?

the most important thing is that i have to compare the past transformers with present ones. can any one say how to get or collect information about that?

A transformer is a transformer. Two loops of wire near each other. The physics is stable and does not change much. Here are some changes I can think of:
There is a new type of transformer "planar".
I was involved in using triple insulated wire in place of tape for insulation.
Split bobbin transformer.
Core material have changed over the years.
I have some transformers that date back to silk thread for insulation.
