Center aligned PWM

I am bit confused with this. When should i use center aligned pwm and when edge aligned pwm for 3 phase driver. Will there be any performance difference? Please advice. I am not sure if i am giving enough information.

In essence, a center aligned pwm 3 phase driver results in fewer harmonics than an edge aligned arrangement.
