Bunny Hop noise

Hey everyone! Joined 5 minutes ago to get input on a little "pet" project idea.

I haven't researched much because I don't have any idea how hard something like this might be:

The GF just bought a little pet bunny and I want to do something with the little guy other than watch him eat. I want to try to wire up a vest to make a video game "hopping" noise when he bounces around. Extremely pointless and it'll probably get old after ten minutes, but I can't get the idea out of my head.

How would you do something like this? My experience with electronics is limited. I don't know if I can wire an accelerometer or tilt sensor or something easily without a lot of components. It seems like I'll need some speaker and way to store a recorded noise, a battery, etc...

Ah well, I'm not expecting much, but if it's a simple project I'm good at following instructions and researching once I'm pointed in the right direction.

the sensor would be easy as any tilt/tip would work, but audio could be more difficult, even for an 8-bit mario sound the easiest way i can think of is getting in to programming an micro-controllers;

If you have an old thermostat around with a mercury switch in it you could use that with a little piezo beeper from radio shack and a battery. Sounds like fun to me!

Hallmark cards (and others, no doubt) sell un-recorded (virgin) playback specialty cards (maybe $10). They, of course, come with instructions. Remove it from the card. Record some sort of "bunny-hop" sound on it.

And then with ronv's idea (or some other switch arrangement), you could put together what you're proposing.

Great thoughts on the card! This definitely gives me a few ideas to play with. If I come up with anything worthwhile I'll post a video.

Bunny hops, audio triggers, bunny (startled by sound) hops again, audio re-triggered, .......
Should be fun to watch .
