Hi guys. I am building a circuit to charge a capacitor up to 1500V. It's just a simple loop with a 1500v power supply a resister and a huge capacitor.
Now I want to add a switch can be controlled by TTL. I have BJTs with break down voltages Vcb<1100v, Vce<800v,Veb<7v.
But I don't know how to with it. My problems are:
1. This no way to keep the switch open unless I have a Vc+0.7v Vb.
2. I put two BJTs in series but only when Bs are floated and not connected can the 1500v voltage be divided evenly. So there is no way I can add Bs together and control with TTL.
Does anyone did same projects before?
Thanks

You need a IGBT
