Hi,
Someone proposed to me that I try this circuit, but I would like to add a pause button or a stop that pauses the count using an ON/OFF SPST button.
Does anyone have an idea on where to put the switch in the schematic below?
Thanks!

Bad link to circuit!

Same problem here: bad link

Anyway, using an SPST-switch you might be satisfied with that solution.

Connect pin 4(Reset) via 1KΩ to VDD. Connect the switch to ground and to pin4 of the timer IC.

Whenever the switch is ON it stops the timer.

There's no wat to pause a 555 timer, well not for very long anyway, as the charge in the timing capacitor will slowly leak away.

A timer can be made with a counter, such as the CD4060, can easily have a pause button added.

I couldn't find the schematic on the page you linked to.
