The 555 timer tool does not give correct results for the "standard" astable circuit. Give it equal resistor values, and it tells you it will yield a 50% duty cycle. As most of us know, the "standard" astable circuit cannot produce a 50% duty cycle.
In any case, there are enough variations of the astable circuit to make it necessary, IMHO, to show the schematic being used.
Thanks for the feedback guys, I have fixed the calculations and have specified that this is the astable version. I will try to create a schematic also.
