10 sequense relay project

i want to make a board that will run on 110 v (flexable) and have it control 10relays which will be switching 110v ac at 2 amps.

i would like it to flash each channel for and adjustable amount of time (1-3 seconds) in the order 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 pause 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 repete.

i also need this to be a stand alone device that needs no input from a PC.

im totally new adn this stuff so please dumb it waaaaay down.

Relays wear out when they switch power over and over.
Light bulbs also burn out when they are switched over and over.

your right when i said "relay" i meant solid state relay and for the lights they will be christmas lights from a flashing string.
 
easy way would be a 4017 w/ 555

a 4017 is a decade counter-counts to x or 10 then can recycle
a triac would make for a solid state relay
the 555 configured to run at a pulse every 3-4 seconds, count to ten then recycle
no big deal
will try and construct a schematic
