Here is an image of Spain's great toreo "Julio Aparicio".

He stumbled while attacking the bull but lost the competion. The bull took his chance well. :D

He left intensive care after one week and is getting better now.

Don't mess around with a bull if you have only two feet to move. :p

I've never understood the need to provoke and then despatch an animal as a form of entertainment, however 'traditonal'.

I think the bull made a better 'point' here:
bull's revenge.jpg

if you'll pardon the pun...

... and animal rights activists whine and complain about us hunters shooting game... especially when it's only for supplemental food. My deer is downed quickly with one bullet. Often they don't get to run even 10 steps!

I'm on your side here HT.

Make it a quick ending....not a prolonged exhibition.

I despatch my game fish before the hook is removed.

Just temporarily. It certainly ended up converted to steaks.

BTW, that kind of "sports" wouldn't have any chance to be carried out in Germany - neither by the government nor by the people.

Just watch the annual bull chasing through Pamplona - where dozens of citizens fall victim to uncontrolled racing bulls.

That's spanish life style. Olé! :D

Isn't Spain the country that celebrates some sort of tradition where thousands of people run through the streets while tossing tomatoes at each other? It's one big tomato fight. If it's not intentionally released bulls taking out a crowd, it's themselves pummeling each other, but with tomatoes. What a werid country.

You ain't seen South Africa yet. "They" slaughtered a Bull today to bless the SWC.

The Bull was slaughtered in public to loud applause from the majority of "people" that attended.

What a weird "people" these retarded, super superstitious fools are. Nuff said.

What would be even better in Spain, run the bulls when the tomato fight day is, instead of bulls gorging people they will be sliding down the road taking people out and then they could call a new game 10 people bulling......a new twist on 10 pin bowling....

What else have people to do in South Africa besides applauding to the slaughter of a bull?

Are all of them unemployed?

That's cheap people's entertainment, worse than that of any animal.

Animals kill and eat right away. :)

Not quite the thing! Tomatoes are being spread over the streets by bulldozers first. Thereafer people are free to toss the leftover of tomatoes at each other.

I'd really enjoy to have some bulls in the streets as well chasing people up the walls of houses.

Anyway, that kind of "game" seems a bit overcome these days.

Instead of making "ketchup" in the streets spanish people should invite some poor people to eat fresh tomatoes as long as they want to.

We're all living too richly and this is the reason why playing with food.

When I refuged from East Prussia to West Germany during WWII I had no reason to reject any food - 100g of bread and 10g of margarine per day - which I'll never forget.

I don't like wasting food!

I agree wholeheartedly. I hate seeing food wasted. Restaurants and cruise ships and casinos waste tremendous amounts of food, and even more just for decorative purposes too. Where I work at, they refuse to even give left-over food to the farmers for their livestock. There's always this "liability" excuse that's touted as the reason for sending it to the dumpster, then to the landfill where sea gulls, crows, rats, and raccoons hang out and get fat.

I don't know how food leftovers have to be treated in the USA. In Germany giving kitchen waste to farmers to e.g. raise pork is strictly forbidden unless the food has been steamcooked at 110degC for at least one hour, to be proved by a temperature plot.

I worked with an orphant's home near my city who had that problem. 50kg of daily waste food could make good money for the orphant's benefit I was told.

It's no problem to cook the food, but each sale requires the mandatory temperature plot. I converted a meteorological temperature plotter accordingly and got official clearance (after thorough testing) to use the plots as prove for orderly cooking.

There were no energy expenses for the home because the community paid for electric power, resulting in extra €1,500 for the orphants per month.

Checking out what happened to the money I found that it was spent completely for books, toys and recreation facilies.

Sounds good to me! :D

My local Primary School were approached by a Church Group to see if they would raise funds to help an African girl go to school - apparently it only costs £200 a year, and that includes full board as well. They held a single event, and raised £380 (it's a very small schiool), and are looking forward to communication with the girl once she's at school and can access the Internet.

If you want a North American version of running with the bulls, visit Strathmore, Alberta, Canada during rodeo season. Google and Travel Alberta will tell you more than I can, I don't live in Strathmore. There are no tomato battles here, better served in salads or alone and spiced.

You probably haven't heard of the legendary Folsom (California) rodeos.

I rode in for the opening ceremony carrying the flag of Bavaria (wearing Bavarian outfit - Lederhosen and Seppl hat) right after that of the "Lone Star State's" (Texas).

People wondered: "Have we gained a new state in the US?" :)

I am easy to spot at a bullfight. I am the guy with a jug of Sangria cheering for the bull. Now I know the bull is marked before the show begins but I figure since the bull is going to lose in the long run I want to see him take out someone along the way. Problem is it is a rigged fight. Now, I figure open arena and the matador gets only his sword and no other support would be fun to watch. No picadors and no lancing the bull. Then if the Bull wins and waste the matador the bull gets retirement. :)
