It certainly seems like a way to reduce the cost of production. I wonder about the longevity of the devices. There is no discussion of efficiency - I believe their argument is that it's going to be so cheap that efficiency doesn't matter. There is some truth to that but siting becomes an issue. They also breeze over the infrastructure issues like storage.
