8 Pin Potentiometer wiring

hello this is my first time asking. building an external volume control using an alpine rk27 50k stereo pot know about six pin pots for wiring but this has 8 pins what are the 2 extra for? thank you. 408 silverfox
 
Presumably one of these:

The middle three pins are the conventional terminals, as far as I can see - all the standard ones have the position for that extra one, but actual no pin - eg:


So just ignore the extra pins to use it as a normal pot.

This is a more common style pot, that has a loudness tap - it's a fixed point near mid position along the resistance, which may help clarify the device concept:
