When my login expires and I see this site the way an unregistered user seees it, when I look at a forum thread there always seems to be a post from a user named "Dave". He's a new member who has -10 likes (???). Oh, and the post is always #3.1415.

OK, I get it, pi. The post seems to be a placeholder for a sponsored ad (without which, I assume, the site would cease to function). Is that all this is? If so, pretty clever, guys.

I'm assuming you're running adblock? If you weren't an actual ad would appear within the post.

I should have been more clear; I do see an ad in the posting. I just meant that the post from "Dave" seems to be a placeholder within which there's an ad.
Not sure why my sessions expire; perhaps I don't have things set up to stay logged in. Not a big deal.

It's not a placeholder, the post is specifically intended to display an ad to anyone not logged into the site.

When you log in do you check the "Stay logged in" box (or whatever it is titled)?

Well, that's what I meant; maybe "template" might be a better term. No, I guess I don't check that box. I'll have to try that next time.
