Hi all

Maybe a stupid question to some, but here goes, looking on e bay for electrical cable, there are many sales for "AUTOMOTIVE CABLE" what's the difference between this cable and cable for House wiring ?

Regards

Ray

My guess is that it will have grater working temperature range than a cable for standard house wiring.

Yes, and plenty of other "special" requirements compared to house wiring:
- Service temperatures
- Flexibility/hardness
- Mechanical stability under load
- Wear resistance
- Resistance to oil, fuels, brake fluid, acids/alkalis, organic agents
- Flame-retardant
