The Amptek part looks like a surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter. If so that makes this either an RF transmitter or receiver.

What are the full part numbers of the two ICs? One is blurry and the other is hidden under a sticker.

ak

Amptek is a101 which is a charge sensitive preamp discriminatory.
I was reading about it.
On that same pcb is a am26ls31dc
The other pcb has a lm318
Going into the block is two cables maybe rg174 size
Reading on the a101 mentions photomultiplier .being from a university most likely
Altho mentions other uses
