Hi all.
I’d like to ask the community about an iron rod permanent magnet on a clock.
Please see the photos of a Brillie clock where the pendulum swing is maintained by an electro magnet and permanent magnet and a switch. I want to replicate the iron rod permanent magnet like the one in the photo.
I have no idea of how strong the magnetism is in the bar it’s not a lot.
Is there a way for me to make a magnet like this? The bar isn’t an issue it’s the magnetism!!
Also you will see in the photo there is a fine tune system for increasing and decreasing the magnetism in the electro magnet.
Can any explain to me how by lowering or highering the fine tune rod effects the electromagnet strength?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Mark
