hi all,

i need some help here....

i am considered a newbie in utilising ICs and i dun really know how to read /interpret the datasheets...... here are my questions:

1. can normal counters (eg the 74LS193) count at a rate of above 450 khz ??? if not, what is the fastest speed it can count at ??

2. if i input a pulse (around 450 khz) into a NAND gate or a NOT gate, can these gates respond fast enough to produce the correct output ???

3. what is the fastest pulse (frequency) that a 555 timer can generate ??

thanks a million.....

LS serie can work upto 32MHz, also no problem with gates.
555 - i can't see the datasheet now - but i think 500kHz not a high frequency for 555.

500 kHz is the limit of 555. It is the max. frequncy which a 555 can generate.
