Trying to repair a Geneva Lab Model L

Im not sure what is wrong with the unit. The small fuse broke, I replaced it but made no difference. Ive taken out every PCB board and cleaned them with qtips/electric spray, but made no difference either.

The small green LED powers on when I hit the power button / functions like FM/DVD etc, but quickly fades out in 1-2 seconds.

Im wondering if you can help me finding out what may be wrong / if there is a visible faulty transistor/etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I see there is some yellow stuff below one of the big capacitors (on the PCB) , could this be onw of the issues? Youll see it on the pictures.

It's glue, used to fasten large components in place.

If the fuse blew, and replacing it didn't cure it, then it's likely something has failed which blew the fuse. It's extremely unlikely that there would be any visible signs, and you would most likely need to fault find the problem.

Ive tried googling alot on these units, but cant find anything helpfull, which either means im really unlucky / that most havent failed or the information is hard to come by.

Do you have any advice on where to begin?
 
C12 on the PS board looks a bit sketchy (Between the 8-DIP & transformer) can you take a closer look at that, to see if it has vented?

Thanks for the feedback. I think its okay, looks like its just dirt, took a more closeup picture for you below.

However, just found out that if I unplug the blue and blaxk wire the LED dosent go out when i power it on.. So this PCB board might be good. (see the other picture).

Im going to take a picture of where those 2 wires (black/blue) lead to shortly

 
If i unplug the wire with red/black the light is also still on, so seems the issue is not with this PCB board either, the red/black wire leads to the smallest PCB which i belive is a transformer to 5v and maybe something else, i think maybe one of the capacitators on this card looks bad. Take a look at the pictures included below:

 
That's definitely in need of replacement, and it's probably a good idea to replace the one next to it too.

Getting it replaced tomorrow, i connected a 5v 2A driver to the red/black cable and its fully working now, no idea how "powerfull" that PCB board is when it comes to ampage but.
