Hey-
I need to make a sound activated switch.
It has to have adjusted sensitivity, fast response time, release time<3s, and small off time delay.
I know I need a 555 timer and a comparator, but could someone please show me a circuit diagram to do this? Thank you.

A common application for a sound activated switch is on transceivers. VOX is one term that describes it. Search on amateur radio and VOX and you'll probably find some good designs. Not the only place to look but certainly worth checking out.
