Simple circuit for Battery Status indication for 7.4v re-chargable battery?

For my MINI PROJECT

I need to get an LED indication for

full battery and

low battery(if possible)

the circuit must be simple with components such as transistors,resistors..etc

thinking of a 1) TL431 voltage monitor circuit, use 2, one for high and one for low, you can find them in old tv's and stuff...
2) duel comparator....
maybe other ideas will come along
