How can i measure the force exerted by a person on the vacuum nozzle's hinge?

My idea is to cut the vacuum tube into two parts and place a 6 F/T sensor in the tube's connection. Would the measured force/torque be the same as the one at the hinge?

I would be very happy to hear other suggestion as an alternative to this sensor.

Can you post a pic of nozzle assembly, what it goes to, whats the hinge ....?

Regards, Dana.

Hi Dana, sorry for the late reply. Here is some pics of the hinge.

Maybe easiest low cost is strain gauge (Wheatstone Bridge config) -

If you need actual force use a micro to implement measurements -

The above is single chip. Note I would not have done what author did here, use PGAs
as amps in differential signal path. Their G mismatch is too poor for this type of
application. Just use the DelSig (ADC) and its front end G trimmed amp settings.

If you just need a trip level then a comparator with Vref would do.
