I need to control an LED based on light intensity of a room.
what type of sensor is suitable and good, how can we interface the sensor with the microprocessor?

whenver light intensity is low the LED should glow,otherwise not to glow.

Do you mean, the LED is either ON or OFF. Or, do you mean that the intensity of the LED will vary with the intensity of the room light?
