Hi Guys,
I am doing a student project using RF and am going to be sending data at fairly low rates (10kbps or less) and was wondering if anyone had experience with certain manufacturers that they would recommend using? Also is an RF transmitter and receiver all that I really need or is it essential to use an encoder and decoder along with these?
Thanks for your help
Tom

It's essential to use an encoder/decoder, doing it in your own software is one way, or buy pre-programmed chips to do it.

10kbps isn't really a slow data rate though, maximum is often 9600 baud or less, with Manchester coding further reducing throughput.
