I opened up a blog to detail an older RC Tank project of mine. Hopefully it will inspire others to try making their own RC or autonomous control robot.
The base board that comes with the Tamiya track vehicle is like some sort of semi-hardwood, like beech, or alder. There is a piece 0.062 aluminum for the plate that holds the pcb, and Vex receiver. Then there is a cheapo phenolic pcb board that came from from a plastic project box. I hate that phenolic stuff, really brittle, super easy to lift pads when soldering. Hope that covers the boards?
