A next door neighbor had one of those in his boat. How do you say

Which one? A Vette motor or the Hemi? The only real good Vette motor IMHO was the 427 L88 Rat motor... and even then the 427 Cobra Jet outpaced it... but not the Hemi when properly carbed. Today's modern designed hemis are a laugh.

They all had their strengths. I agree the 427 Fords with the cross-bolt mains were quite the motor.
The aluminum 'rat' motors were strong too.

I don't agree with 'a best' what was good is that the 'big three' were competing, driving each other to do better and better...

until somewhere in the 1970s... :(
